God's Assignments

Joshua 1:1-9

September 15, 2019 • Dr. Howard Wilburn

Application Questions:

1. Joshua had a sure promise from the Lord in 1:3 that assured him of victory. How do we determine the directions of the Lord in our lives so we can be assured of victory? Do we follow circumstances, advice from others, impressions of heart or statements from Scripture?

2. The Lord said to Joshua, Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you (1:5). How do we go about realizing the presence of the Lord with us as we pursue our life endeavors?

3. According to Joshua 1:8, This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night…. What is the proper sequence for obedience, meditation, quiet time and memorization of scripture?

4. In what ways may the art of meditation affect your life in mind, emotions and actions?
