Worry is a Sin and it can so easily distract and disrupt our relationship with God. It ultimately puts our trust in our circumstances rather than God. Our trust should be in God and not in what our struggles and pains are revealing. We can justify worry to cover things up, but it ultimately is a lack of trust in God. There are things of habit that we do all the time to help us deal with life that can quickly become a part of our identity. Oftentimes it is so easy to minimize, justify, and comprise in our own values to make what scripture would call sin–work for us. However, the bad habits (Gossip, Pride, Lying & Worry) that we would see as No Big Deal are really more destructive than we might think.
Dead To Rights

The idea of fair has permeated every aspect of our society. We consistently seek to see the scales to be leveled. There is a sense of gratification when justice has been served. It is relieving. We have to drop "fair" from every aspect of our lives. Jesus turned "fair" on its ear. There are things of habit that we do all the time to help us deal with life that can quickly become a part of our identity. Little White Lies

Any way you look at it, there's nothing little about lying. Lying can only divide our wholeness, and Jesus beckons us to know Him in a way that would set us free from the destruction our lies inflict. Pride is a high or inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct, etc. Pride can easily seep through the very nature of who we are and we tend to justify or minimize it when it comes to our own lives. Jesus modeled for us how to humble ourselves and know who we are before we make any decisions. He is calling us to a deeper understanding that in order for us to have freedom from pride we have to begin to shift our perspective and examine our hearts. It may seem like No Big Deal, but when we Gossip we are no longer walking in freedom, and the destruction goes beyond what even we can see. How can we seek to separate ourselves from this habit of sin, and replace it with truth, grace and hope through Jesus Christ?
