Fight the FOMO

Philippians 4:12-13

In order for us to fight the fear of missing out, we must understand the secret of contentment. It is not found in what you have or what you don't have. It is found only in Jesus Christ alone.

Discontentment is the fruit of envy. When we chose to follow Jesus we can cultivate gratitude rather than comparing ourselves to others.

As you scroll through your day, does it feel like everyone else has it all together? Someone always has the best job, cutest kid, best vacation, the happiest relationships, or just overall better life. We’re pressured to measure up to other people’s social media status updates that only perpetuates a very real struggle to keep up.

What if you could find freedom from this Struggle? This five-week series studies what it’s like to live a Christ-focused life in a selfie-centered world. Topics include finding contentment, compassion, authenticity, authentic relationships, and rest.

This Is Fine.

So many times we say, "Well, now all we have to do is pray, as if it is like our last resort", when in reality, we should start with prayer! Pray Immediately, pray specifically, with and for others and pray without ceasing. Remember in the times where the world seems to be falling apart that we can trust and remember that our hope is not in our circumstances, but in Jesus! As you scroll through your day, does it feel like everyone else has it all together? Someone always has the best job, cutest kid, best vacation, the happiest relationships, or just overall better life. Compassion is action! The only way to being fulfilled in life, is to live bigger than yourself. Something your passionate about will separate you from others! What is so broken in the world that really angers you that should be making people angry? That is your passion! If you want t one significant, then you have to add value to others! Bloom where you're planted! As you scroll through your day, does it feel like everyone else has it all together? Someone always has the best job, cutest kid, best vacation, the happiest relationships, or just overall better life. When we allow those areas of our lives to be exposed, we are able to turn to Christ and allow him to work in those exposed areas. Moses put on a veil, the people in turn their hearts are hardened, and to this day their hearts are still hardened because Moses chose to wear a veil. You still have influence and you can still be the one in other people's lives to show them how to live with an unveiled face. This generation we live in has so many filters and so our role is to be vulnerable with people so that their hearts are not hardened, but they will see Jesus and how He sees them.
