Venda Mission Trip - Feedback!
A team of 15 learners • August 12, 2015
Taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is he who trusts in the Lord (Ps 34 v 8) VENDA MISSION TRIP 12/08/2015 - 15/08/2015 What a wonderful trip this was for both us and those we went to serve and minister to. None of the 17 of us has returned the same – our hearts were touched and we felt challenged. Every morning and evening we would spend time in prayer in the “Upper Room” – precious moments with our Lord – God’s faithfulness was evident. The mornings were basically spent serving in the learning centres. Our 15 learners could experience the other side of school – helping children with their pace work, doing group activities, but most of all, just loving and praying for the children. The rest of the day, the girls spent raking up leaves - as quickly as they were raking up the fallen leaves, new leaves would be falling !! All part of serving! The boys sorted and carried bricks, making it easier for the builders to lay the bricks for the school hall. Both groups were such a blessing to the people on the mission base. On Thursday afternoon we went to the orphanage. The learners did a skit: “Everyone needs Jesus”. They sang lots of songs with them, prayed for them and played with them. Our learners certainly put smiles on the faces of the children – precious ! Friday afternoon, we visited the special needs schools – (see a photo of the school in the latest Casual Day pamphlet). There were many heart-wrenching moments with the disabled, blind, deaf and mute children running to play with us – recognising us from previous years. But is wasn’t all work! There was a fun team-building evening, a fear- conquering walk across an extra-long narrow bridge, a youth evening with the young people on the mission base, and otherwise, just a time of mingling and sharing with those working on the base. Thank you all for your prayers. Many seeds of love were sown. Fruits of seeds sown in previous years were evident. We serve an amazing God ! All glory and honour to Him alone
