Moms on a Mission

May 14, 2017 • Peter Mueller

Moms spend their lives on a mission to love and raise, train and prepare, release and pray for their children. Today’s message looks at three moms in the Bible as inspiration and encouragement for moms everywhere. These three remarkable women have much to teach everyone, male or female, whether a person has kids or not. Thank-you moms!

Fathers Leading Families to Meet with God

June 18, 2017 • Peter Mueller

Here in the northwest, Dads often take their families to the mountains - for hiking, skiing, camping, canoeing, and fishing, among other activities. In the Bible, God often met with people on mountains - He spoke to them, encouraged them, and gave them a mission to go back home with. Dads have the privilege of taking their families to the mountains, literal and figurative, to also meet with God, hear His Word, and discover something about the mission God is sending them on together.

Strength in Numbers

An increasing number of Christians are attending worship gatherings less and less frequently in our country today. Many believe they can adequately practice their faith on their own in the privacy of their home or car or wherever, but the clear teaching of the New Testament is that this is not possible - not only is there no such thing as “private Christians” because being a Christian automatically connects you to the larger Church, but the New Testament urges us to meet together regularly and Jesus reminds us that He is with us when we do.

Shout for Joy!

June 4, 2017 • Peter Mueller

A big part of worship is praising God in songs and prayers. Both the Old and New Testaments are clear that worship needs to be motivated by the Spirit, from the heart, and rooted in the truth of God’s word about who God is, who we are in Him, what He’s done for us, and His view of our lives and world. Discover how God can help us SHOUT for JOY, even when we might not feel like it.

Receiving Healing and Life

Today’s gospel story about the faith of a Roman soldier will help us consider that part of worship is coming to God in honesty about the hurting parts of our hearts, minds and bodies and asking Him in humility for His strength where we come up short. Our God is a God who specializes in restoring the broken parts of our lives!

Declaration

Acknowledging who God is and Admitting who we were, are, and are becoming • May 21, 2017 • Peter Mueller

As we dive into a series of messages on worship, today’s message looks at worship as a declaration - a public statement of who God is and who we were, are, and with His power will one day be.

Worship God with Your Whole Life

Confirmation 2017 • May 7, 2017 • Peter Mueller

As many of our 8th Grade students confirm their faith in Jesus today, our message will reflect on how God calls them and us to worship God with our whole lives - our bodies, minds, hearts, and souls are all called to follow the resurrected Jesus in every way. We follow in His Spirit’s power, knowing that while the way is not always easy, the one we follow is good and filled with love towards us.
