Life Changing Moments With Jesus

An Invitation to the Dinner Table

September 24, 2023 • Pastor Mark Wilson • 1 Thessalonians 4:16–18, Revelation 22:3, Isaiah 65:16–17

We know that scripture reveals that we will all have a personal encounter with Jesus. The fact is that we will never be totally satisfied until the day when we are face-to-face with Jesus in heaven—the place that He promised to prepare for us. What do we know about that encounter? What will Heaven be like?

The Skeptic and the Risen Lord

September 17, 2023 • Pastor Mark Wilson • John 20:19–20

Thomas was determined to face life honestly. If Jesus was dead, then he would have to face it. As he had always done before, he would have to come to grips with the facts and just move on. Even though some of the disciples claimed that Jesus had appeared to them, Thomas needed to be more cautious this time. Can you blame him? If he were to believe and jump back in this time fully, he would have to have his own encounter with Jesus.

Seeing Jesus Through the Fog

September 10, 2023 • Pastor Mark Wilson • Mark 9:1–10

Today we are going to talk about three men and the mountain. The men: Peter, James, and John—were about to have an encounter that would shake them to their core, challenge them in their call, and later on propel them in their cause. They thought they knew Jesus, but when they encountered Him in His full glory it drove their confidence to an all-time high.

Partial Picture

September 3, 2023 • Pastor Josh Nash • Mark 6:1–6

After performing some incredible miracles and displaying his power, Jesus returned to his hometown to preach and teach. While the people were initially amazed, once they started to realize they "knew" all about Jesus and that he was Joseph's son, they took offense at him and his message. Instead of a response of amazement or fear that others had in response to God's action, we see Jesus' amazement at the people's lack of faith. They missed the reality of who Jesus truly was because they thought they knew all about him. They missed the forest for the trees. Looking to us, as we spend more time in church and grow familiar with Jesus, we can be at risk of losing sight of just how incredible the reality is of what God has done through him. Have we forgotten to be amazed?

Solve Our Problems, but Save Our Pigs

August 27, 2023 • Pastor Mark Wilson • Luke 8:26–39

Today, we will look at an encounter best described as a head-on collision. When Jesus met this man in the region of Gerasene’s, two spiritual kingdoms clashed in this encounter. Through this encounter, we see the Power of Jesus to cast out demonic spirits. And even though the community was thankful that Jesus had solved their problem, they were upset with Jesus for letting the demons inhabit their pigs.

A Tale of Two Sinners

August 20, 2023 • Pastor Mark Wilson • Luke 7:36–50

Today, we are going to look at an elite dinner party that was interrupted by an uninvited guest. She was no ordinary woman, she was a woman of ill repute. What prompted her to come to Simon’s house in the first place? We don’t know for sure, but the encounter that occurred here in Luke 7 left her changed forever.

Voted Least Likely to Convert

August 6, 2023 • Pastor Mark Wilson • Acts 9:1–22

The encounter that Saul of Tarsus had with Jesus of Nazareth is notable because it happened after Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. This shows us that even after He left the earth, the resurrected Jesus continued to pursue people in His desire to change lives. What we find out in this encounter is that God had been pursuing Saul all along, preparing him for the day he encountered him on the road to Damascus.
