Today, we will explore Mark 12, where Jesus is cornered with a question about paying taxes to Caesar. This wasn’t just a casual question, but a trap. However, in classic Jesus fashion, He flips the script and reminds us that while we might have to deal with government and politics, our true allegiance is to God.
It’s about recognizing that our primary identity isn’t found in a political party or candidate but in being citizens of God’s kingdom. Because at the end of the day, no matter who’s in power, Jesus is still on the throne.
