Helping My Neighbor

June 10, 2018

Sermon Points: In the text The Samaritan has ever ability to exploit the man in need. He has every ability to use this situation and turn a profit on it. He does not do that. He simply wants to serve and help. In helping our neighbor we must always do what is best for our neighbor. How do we do this well? 1. Assess the need and count the cost of meeting our neighbors' need. 2. Let our neighbors define their need and respect their boundaries. 3. Helping must not be driven by personal gain but by sacrificial service. 4. Helping takes time and we must be committed to stick with it until the job is done.
