Sermon Points: We don’t have JOY because we don’t know GOD, and because we don’t know GOD, we don’t know what it means for us to be SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF GOD, which is the foundation of JOY.  There is a difference between: BEING HAPPY and  HAVING JOY. Being happy is based on circumstances lining up my way. Having joy is based on being connected to God. Gladness is expressed through both grief and gratitude.
