Gospel & Race Event

July 26, 2022
7:00 - 9:00pm

This dessert gathering gives the people of Hope a chance to hear from Dr. Scottye Holloway, President of The Mendenhall Ministries, a ministry dedicated to rural Christian community development in Mendenhall, Mississippi. Dr. Holloway will be sharing an update of the ministry and challenges currently being faced in Mississippi. Hope Community Church currently supports the work of Dr. Holloway and The Mendenhall Ministries. You too will be invited to personally support The Mendenhall Ministries both prayerfully and financially. Additionally Pastor Cor will share about 4 days in early May spent visiting a dozen different sites within Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee dedicated to telling the history of racial injustice in the South and U.S. including slavery, Jim Crow segregation, bombings, lynchings, and into current economic, political, education, and social realities. Cor joined with a group of 30 area clergy, of white, African-American, and bi-racial ethnicities/races. He will share through pictures, stories, and reflections the impact of this experience on his life and faith. We hope you can join us!
