Discover the Power of Community!
We invite you to watch a compelling message from our guest speaker and dear friend of Hope City Church, Mark Mateer, as he explores the vital topic of "Community." In this sermon, Mark highlights that even while more than half of us might identify as introverts, every person needs a community. We’re not meant to walk this journey alone; we’re called to be a part of something greater—something that gives us the chance to truly become the hands and feet of Jesus.
Through the story of the Prodigal Son, Mark paints a vivid picture of what it's like to long for connection and sustenance in a world where "no one gave him anything." He reminds us that we, too, live in a world where many feel alone and unseen. But as followers of Christ, we are called to make a difference. He also draws on Matthew 25, where Jesus commends those who do what they can for "the least of these," and takes us to the Judgment Seat of Christ, reminding us that God takes note of everything we do.
Mark challenges us with two significant questions we will be asked in heaven:
1) "What did you do with my Son?"
2) "What did you do for my Son?"
These questions serve as a powerful reminder of the purpose of community. In community, we find the opportunity to serve, love, and support one another, reflecting Jesus' love to the world around us. It’s in community that we become His hands and feet, doing His work on earth.
We encourage you to join us in watching this message and to reflect on your role in your own community. Let’s explore together how we can better live out our faith, support one another, and be a light in a world that so desperately needs it.
