Making Waves Pt. 2 - Week 5

July 31, 2022 • Mark, James

We finish up our Make Waves series discovering more about James 3:1-6. Our words have power. Thankfully, we can count on the Holy Spirit to help us. BOTTOM LINE: God gives you the power to have self-control. MEMORY VERSE: “God began a good work in you. And I am sure that he will carry it on until it is completed. That will be on the day Christ Jesus returns." Philippians 1:6, NIRV REMEMBER: What you do today can change the world around you.

Making Waves Pt. 2 - Week 4

July 24, 2022 • Luke, Mark

For week four, we get a glimpse into the heart of Jesus. in Mark 10:13-16. Mark records a time when Jesus welcomed children, gave them his attention, and blessed them. Back then, no one thought very highly of children, and what Jesus did would have shocked the people watching. His gentleness to the children continues to be an important example of how we can make waves when we respond to others with gentleness. BOTTOM LINE: God can give you the strength to be gentle. MEMORY VERSE: “God began a good work in you. And I am sure that he will carry it on until it is completed. That will be on the day Christ Jesus returns." We were created in God’s image. God sent Jesus to show us the best way to be human. But God knew we’d need help. That’s why God sent us the Holy Spirit. With the power of the Spirit, we can produce fruit that points others to Jesus.
