The Kingdom | Week 2

The Nature of The Kingdom

November 3, 2024 • Craig Samples

We base this series from the words of Jesus found in Mark 1:14-15 ESV - 14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, 15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel." Jesus spoke about the time, proximity and the entrance into The Kingdom.

This week we want to look at the nature of The Kingdom. The New Oxford Dictionary defines nature as, “[in singular] the basic or inherent features of something, especially when seen as characteristic of it”. Merriam Webster’s dictionary defines nature as, “disposition, treatment”. For example, she had a very loving nature. The nature of something is its essence. What makes that person or thing tick or work or operate. The nature of something is how that person or thing operates in the moment and sometimes it is instinctive. Although the nature of a person can and will change especially if that person becomes a disciple of Jesus.
