Come and go With Me

November 2, 2024 • Jim Kirk • Hebrews 13:5, Isaiah 56:7, Joshua 1:9

As older people, we spend more time coming and going to places we haven’t always been. Earlier in life we spent more time making trips to destinations like school events, sporting venues, or even vacation spots. Now it seems our visits find us going to doctor’s offices, hospitals, or other places associated with the effects of aging. We may need others to come with us because we aren’t able to drive ourselves.

Thank God, our Lord not only invites himself to be with us in this journey called life, but he also invites us to his Holy house of prayer. He puts his eternal word in our hearts and lives as we read it or have it read to us. He also puts people

in our lives who will help us bear our burdens. That is his promise, and he always keeps his promises.
