Most of us understand that it’s not best to swim dressed for hiking or to run decked out for skiing. Yet, we attempt to live our lives carrying the unbearable weight of our past hurts and the unshakeable chains of bitterness. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS: When you were younger, who did you expect to be when you grew up? (This is different than who did you WANT to be.) When is the last time you found peace that wasn't manufactured? Do you believe it's attainable? Define confession, repentance, and restoration as a group? How did you define them in the past? What do you struggle with or still don't understand? What are the lies that cheapen your forgiveness? How can you practice this on a consistent basis?

How does our timeline for Justice differ from God's? How does that affect the way we handle conflict? Without sharing their name, share about a time when someone did you wrong. How did you respond? Are you prone to dreaming about a revenge encounter? Read Romans 12:17-19. Do you find comfort in this verse? Do you believe that God will avenge the wrong done to you? Do you believe God will make right the wrong done to you? How can we as a group pray for what you have been carrying?
