Eagles on the Hilltop - Volunteer
We invite you to learn about Hilltop Church's partnership with Lanigan Elementary! The Lord has blessed Hilltop's Lovin’ Lanigan initiative by allowing our presence to grow within the school community, and in the fall of 2022 we introduced Eagles on the Hilltop. Eagles on the Hilltop is a mentoring program for Lanigan Elementary students in kindergarten - fifth grade. The focus of this program is to “empower tomorrow’s leaders to be seen, heard, and make a significant difference today.” Students are at Hilltop every Saturday morning from 9 am - noon. They receive breakfast, then participate in three learning stations consisting of STEM, reading enrichment, and physical activity / life skills, followed by lunch; all at no cost to the participants. While the extra learning is important, what is becoming clear is the importance of the relationships being forged between the students and the volunteer mentors. These relationships are blossoming into relationships that then include their family members. Eagles fits perfectly into Hilltop’s mission to “know, show, and share the love of Jesus to our neighborhoods, networks, and beyond” as we begin to see Lanigan families attend other Hilltop activities and some are joining us for Sunday morning worship.
