Love in the Waiting
December 24, 2023 • Pastor Kevin P. Horath • Hosea 3
You will never understand God as much as you can if you ONLY approach Him as your King, your Shepherd, or even your Father. He is those things, but He is also more. As the Church, we must also see Him as our Husband. The typology of marriage helps us understand the intimacy of our relationship with God. It's how we can find love in the waiting.
Joy in the Waiting
December 17, 2023 • Pastor Kevin P. Horath, Hillside Kids • Micah 7:7, Lamentations 3:25–26, Psalm 27:14
As much as waiting is an everyday occurrence, the majority of us grumble and stumble through these moments (or seasons) of waiting. We simply do not enjoy waiting. And the truth is, our entire life can really be viewed as one big waiting season.
Understanding that causes us to feel the weight of the wait.
Yet, we can still have joy. After all we have been through, we still have joy.
And what says "joy" more than children singing? We will be blessed to have our children participate in today's service.
Peace
December 10, 2023 • Pastor Kevin P. Horath • Ephesians 2:14, Isaiah 9:6–7
We have learned that Advent is a season in which we prepare ourselves for His return. However, we do not just look for a day when peace finally comes to earth. Rather, in a world that wages war, we need to wage peace. Our lives need to be a demonstration of the Lord’s peace. By this we witness to the world, even in the waiting.
Hope
December 3, 2023 • Pastor Kevin P. Horath • Psalm 13
Do not let seasons of waiting prevent you from praising and serving God. Every season, even those that seem long and lifeless, serves a purpose. Find the purpose in the season you are in. Maximize it. And let it prepare you for the season to come.
