As we commemorate the Lord's Supper today, we are reminded that it is through His wounds that our own wounds can be healed. However, when we do not discern the Lord's body, we open ourselves up to even more hurt. What does "discerning the Lord's Body" mean? We will take an in-depth look at 1 Corinthians 11:29 today.

How Long?

The psalmist simultaneously expresses his frustration and sorrow over his wounds and affirms his trust that God is good in Psalm 13. Dealing with personal hurts and trusting in God’s goodness do not need to be mutually exclusive. We can do both in prayer. However, we have to face the real answer to the question - "How Long?"

Hurt People Hurt People

The story of Lamech illustrates the disastrous effect of responding poorly to wounds: it destroys lives and makes us defensive. We must not wound others in retaliation for their hurtful actions toward us. When hurt, how many times do we forgive? 7 times? 490 times? What is the "magic" number?

Overcoming Church Hurt

Some people are hurt through their own mistakes, others because of sin committed against them, and still others because of failed leadership. This can leave them reluctant to re-engage, afraid of being hurt again, wanting to protect themselves, and questioning the place of church in their lives. The good news is that God has spoken to our pain. There is an answer. There is healing available.
