Once Lost, Now Found

August 18, 2024 • Chad Williams • Luke 15:1–10

In Luke 15:1-10, we encounter the powerful parables of the Lost Sheep and the Lost Coin. These stories reveal God's relentless pursuit of the lost and His immense joy when they are found. We're reminded that Jesus welcomes sinners, challenging our prejudices and self-righteousness. The image of the shepherd leaving the 99 to find one lost sheep speaks to God's individual care for us and his eagerness to preserve and keep his people. When we stray, He comes after us, bearing our full weight on His shoulders, rejoicing as He brings us home. Heaven celebrates when even one sinner repents, showing the immeasurable value God places on each soul.
