DISCIPLINE

MAIN POINTS:

THE BOOK OF RUTH IS A STORY ABOUT

1. A FAMILY LIVING UNDER GOD’S JUDGMENT AND DISCIPLINE

2. A FAMILY LVING UNDER GOD’S PROVIDENCE

3. A FAMILY THAT TEACHES YOU WITH THEIR LIVES THAT GOD IS WRITING YOUR STORY AS WELL.

APPLICATION:

1. Remember, things are never better where God has not called you.

2. Remember, Children and the unmarried among us, God has not given you permission to

romantically pursue, date, or marry godless men and women because you’re lonely or they are

right in front of you (proximity)

3. Remember, discipline is not punishment from a cruel and distant deity but the loving act of a

Father that adores you. And He does it so that you WILL return to Him.

4. Remember, Sin has real life consequences.

5. Remember, no matter what sins you’ve committed or what discipline you’ve endured or are

currently enduring, God is working all things for your good.

6. Remember, no matter how dark and bleak things look around you, you have a Redeemer that

lives.
