The Triumph of God's Grace

December 27, 2020 • Bishop James A Ross

Key scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 NJK

Grace

God is working in us and through us so that we can be disciplined in our love toward Him, one another,

Our faith response to Gods triumphant grace has two effects

-psychological and prophetic

The psychological effect is found in verse 7-8

7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.

The prophetic effect is found in verse 9-10

9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

The prophetic effect of Gods triumph grace transforms hopelessness into hope through an authentic demonstration of Gods power.

Remember that setbacks are divine setups and weakness are opportunities for God to demonstrate His sovereign power.

What Are The Contents of Your Heart

December 13, 2020 • Elder Tamiko Jackson

Elder Tamiko presented the word for the week to encourage us all to really look at the contents of our heart. Here are a few key takeaways. 1. Pride takes on many forms: stubbornness, willfulness, presumptuous behavior and insolence. When we shift confidence from God to self, pride is manifested. Pride does not allow us to exercise in faith. James 4:6 God resists the proud but gives Grace to the humble. 2. Just because you have access it doesn’t mean that you have the authority. The only thing that you can do in the presence of God is surrender. Romans 13:1-2 states that every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resist the authority, resist the ordinance of God and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. 3. Worship is prescribed and there is a posture. Those who worship God must worship in spirit and in truth. What will we do with our moment when God searches the content of our heart. Will He find pride because nothing satisfies us? Will he find anxiety because we can’t be in control? Will he find that our faith has been perverted by fear and ambition? Or will he find the fruit of the spirit of a submitted heart. The Revelation of Repentance

December 6, 2020 • Elder Brian Thurman

The Survivor Series starts off with the invitation of true repentance. Sorry, apologies, and remorse are one thing but true repentance causes a shift in action. Elder B breaks down his revelation of true repentance WHAT DOES TRUE REPENTANCE LOOK LIKE? True repentance can and will be painful and cause hurt - because you are letting go of familiar and comfortable behaviors. 1.Godly sorrow produces repentance without regret - meaning there isn't a looking back at my old behaviors and desiring them again. It a permanent ongoing progressive change of behavior and turning towards God. 2. True repentance is looking back and knowing that godly sorrow has produced a change in you. 3. True repentance causes you to become indignant towards sin. You have an attitude towards your flesh. 4. True repentance causes you to become indignant towards sin. You have an attitude towards your flesh. 5. True repentance produces a fear of offending God 6. True Repentance produces a passion to do what is right in the sight of God 7.
