Soli Deo Gloria: Only God's Glory

October 29, 2017 • Reggie Weems

God is not an audience member in our life stories. There are no competing stories between God and us. He is the Author, producer, director and star of the story. Our stories are immersed in His. We aren’t striving to get God’s attention or affection but we are publicly living out what God has and is doing in the world.

Solus Christus: Only Christ

1 Timothy 2:1-6 • October 22, 2017 • Charlie Scalf

1 Timothy 2:1-6 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man[a] Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.

Sola Fide: Only Faith

Galatians 1:6-9 & 2:15-16 • October 15, 2017 • Charlie Scalf

Sola Gratia: Only Grace

Ephesians 2:4-8 • October 8, 2017 • Reggie Weems

Sola Scriptura: Only Scripture

2 Timothy 3:16-17 • October 1, 2017 • Reggie Weems

God’s redemption recovers all things toward goodness and ultimate perfection. As we apply it to our lives, it creates a world of goodness working toward ultimate perfection. Jesus, the living Word of God lives to breathe life into it by His Spirit, making it powerful, life-changing, transforming, as we apply it to our lives.
