The core meaning of Faith in the Bible is the Lord’s in worked persuasion. Faith is the foundation of the entire Christian life. Nothing can be known or received of God unless man first believes in His existence; and secondly, that God has revealed Himself in His Word, the Bible.
The Authority Of Scripture

Our faith and life as Christians must be based upon God’s Word, and scripture is where we obtain this. There are many other sources that at times would seek to claim the authority to speak for God, such as church authorities, gifted men, words of prophecy and other philosophies we find in the world, but unless they match what the Scriptures say we should not accept them as truth or obey them. “The authority of Scripture means that all the words in Scripture are God’s words in such a way that to disbelieve or disobey any word of Scripture is to disbelieve or disobey God.”
