Love What God Loves

Strong Foundations

November 19, 2019 • Ruth Gallagher

To love something or someone is to really like them, really enjoy their company, to want to bless and honour someone with your best efforts and gifts. The goal of every believer should be to know God and to love Him. You can attend church and not really know God or truly love Him. Our heart is to keep Jesus in the centre, really loving Him above all!

The local church is simply God’s instrument of change. There is no substitute for it and it is a very important core belief as a Christian. Jesus himself laid His life down for the church. The church is above all other forms of Christian organisations and the Bible tells us that God will use the church to accomplish His purpose.

Walking In The Spirit

The word ‘fellowship’ really means ‘intimate relationship’. This is more than an ending to a meeting, rather a plea for the fullness of God. In Ephesians 3:19, the Apostle Paul urges the church at Ephesus to “be filled with the fullness of God”. We are a Word and Spirit church. We see both the Word and the Spirit as pivotal to the believers’ life, especially those who are part of our body (see Isaiah 2:2 & Joel 2:28). The Spirit brings life and understanding to the Word of God. Both the Word and the Spirit are needed in order to have the right balance.
