A YOUNG PASTOR ON THE SMALL ISLAND SOUTH OF GREECE CALLED CRETE. TITUS HAD SERVED PAUL ON SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS TO CORINTH (2 Cor 7:13,14; 8:6, 16, 23; 12;18). PAUL COMMENDED TITUS SAYING, “He is my partner and fellow helper concerning you…(2 Cor 8:23). PAUL GIVES TITUS INSTRUCTIONS FOR PASTORING THE CHURCH AT CRETE Titus 1:4 To Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior. 5 For this reason I left you in Crete, that you would set in order what remains and appoint elders in every city as I directed you, TITUS HAD TO CORRECT TWO WRONGS; 1) UNRIGHTEOUSNESS AMOUNG THE CRETANS 2) FALSE TEACHERS WHO WERE TRYING TO MIX THE LAW WITH THE GOSPEL OF GRACE. 16 They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work. THE PHRASE USED AGAIN AND AGAIN IN TITUS IS “GOOD DEEDS (WORKS)” 2:7 in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, 14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. 3:8 This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men. 14 Our people must also learn to engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful. TITUS IS MENTIONED 13 TIMES IN THE PAULINE EPISTLES PAUL SAID SOMETHING INTERESTING ABOUT TITUS 2 Cor 2:12 Now when I came to Troas for the gospel of Christ and when a door was opened for me in the Lord, 13 I had no rest for my spirit, not finding Titus my brother; but taking my leave of them, I went on to Macedonia. 14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. SOMETIMES IN THIS FACE PACED WORLD WE CAN FORGET PEOPLE. OUR PICTURE OF JESUS IN TITUS IS “OUR BLESSED HOPE” Titus 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, THEME VERESES Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. PHILEMON PHILEMON MEANS “AFFECTIONATE.” BIG VERSE IN A SMALL LETTER… 1:6 and I pray that the fellowship of your faith may become effective through the knowledge of every good thing which is in you for Christ’s sake. AMP [And I pray] that the participation in and sharing of your faith may produce and promote full recognition and appreciation and understanding and precise knowledge of every good [thing] that is ours in [our identification with] Christ Jesus [and unto His glory]. THIS EPISTLE SHOWS THE DOCTRINE OF IMPUTATION THE PAYING OF A DEBT BY ONE FOR ANOTHER. PAUL MEETS PHILEMON IN ROME AND GETS HIM BACK TO GOD AND HE BECOMES LIKE A SON TO HIM. 8 Therefore, though I have enough confidence in Christ to order you to do what is proper, 9 yet for love’s sake I rather appeal to you—since I am such a person as Paul, the aged, and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus 10 I appeal to you for my child Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my imprisonment, 14 but without your consent I did not want to do anything, so that your goodness would not be, in effect, by compulsion but of your own free will. 17 If then you regard me a partner, accept him as you would me. 18 But if he has wronged you in any way or owes you anything, charge that to my account; THE DOCTRINE OF IMPUTATION. THIS IS WHAT JESUS DID FOR US. ALL THAT WE OWED OR EVER WOULD OWE JESUS HAS PAID THE PRICE FOR IT ALL. 19 I, Paul, am writing this with my own hand, I will repay it (not to mention to you that you owe to me even your own self as well OUR PICTURE OF JESUS IN PHILEMON IS “OUR RANSOME” 20 Yes, brother, let me benefit from you in the Lord; refresh my heart in Christ. 21 Having confidence in your obedience, I write to you, since I know that you will do even more than what I say. ONESIMUS WENT FROM USELESS TO USEFUL. (Vs11) WHEN A MAN COMES TO JESUS, HE IS TRANSFORMED FROM WASTE TO WEALTH. THEME VERSE Philemon 6 I pray for you that the faith we share may effectively deepen your understanding of every good thing that belongs to you in Christ. (TPT)

Jesus The Coming King

January 23, 2022 • Pastor Bracken Christian

Mal 3:1 Behold, I am going to send My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; and the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming,” says the LORD of hosts. 2 “But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap. John 14:1 Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. Rev 1:8 I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Heb 10:35 Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.* 37 For yet in a very little while, He who is coming will come, and will not delay. 38 But My righteous one shall live by faith; and if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him. Luke 18:8 when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” OUR EXPECTATION OF HIS COMING MOTIVATES US TO BROTHERLY LOVE, HOLINESS, DEVOTION, FAITHFULNESS, SERVING, AND SOUL WINNING TITUS CALLED THE RETURN OF JESUS “OUR BLESSED HOPE” (Tit 2:13) WHEN THE CHURCH IS NOT LOOKING WITH ANTICIPATION FOR ITS “BLESSED HOPE” ITS STANDARDS OF HOLINESS WILL ALWAYS BE BELOW THOSE OF THE NEW TESTAMENT. 2 Tim 4:6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; 8 in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing. IT’S VITAL TO UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH AND THE 2ND COMING. Luke 17:26 -30 JESUS TELLS US IT WILL BE LIKE THE DAY’S OF NOAH AND LOT. WHEN HE COMES FOR THE CHURCH HE WILL NOT COME TO EARTH. WE (HIS BODY) WILL MEET HIM IN THE AIR AND BE ESCORTED TO HEAVEN. 1 Thess 4:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words. THE COMING OF THE LORD FOR HIS BRIDE IS A PROMISE. 2 Cor 1:20 For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; Therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us. 2 Pet 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; 3 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 4 For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust. 3:3 Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” 7 But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. 8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. 9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. 13 But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. 3:1 This is now, beloved, the second letter I am writing to you in which I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, that you should remember the words spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken by your apostles. Hosea 5:14 For I will be like a lion to Ephraim (northern kingdom) And like a young lion to the house of Judah (southern kingdom). I, even I, will tear to pieces and go away, I will carry away, and there will be none to deliver. 15 I will go away and return to My place Until they acknowledge their guilt and seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me. 6:1 Come, let us return to the LORD. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us. 2 “He will revive us after two days; He will raise us up on the third day, That we may live before Him. 2 DAY’S REFERS TO 2000 YEARS OF CHURCH TIME... THE 3RD DAY WOULD REFER TO THE MILLINIUM WHERE WE RULE AND RIEGN WITH HIM. 3 So let us know, let us press on to know the LORD. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; And He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth.” James 5:7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains. 8 You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near. THE 2ND COMING Matt 24:29 But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory. Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. 13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. 15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron. Ps 149:6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, 7 To execute vengeance on the nations And punishment on the peoples, 8 To bind their kings with chains And their nobles with fetters of iron, 9 To execute on them the judgment written; This is an honor for all His godly ones. Praise the LORD!

Mindsets For Success

January 19, 2022

Be A Better You in 22 Dress for Success. 1. Know your strengths. Psa. 139:13 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. Psa. 139:14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. 2. Be Ambitious. Phil. 3:13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, Phil. 3:14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 2Tim. 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 3. Be Positive. Gal. 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Prov. 4:18 But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. Psa. 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. Phil. 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 4. Be Organized. 5. Be constantly learning. Phil 4:11 AMP Not that I m implying that I was in any personal want, for I have LEARNED HOW TO BE CONTENT (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am. 1 Tim 4:8 AMP For physical training is of some value (useful for a little), but godliness (spiritual training) is useful and of value in everything and in every way for it holds promise for the present life and also for the life which is to come. 6. Have a Strong Support System. Proverbs 20:6 AMP Many a man proclaims his own loving kindness and goodness, but a faithful man, who can find? Prov. 18:24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. 7. Know failure and success go together.
