But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. (Hebrews 3:6 KJV) It's not always the lack of genuineness of a person’s faith that prevent them from receiving from God, but that their believing hasn’t grown to the point of being fully persuaded. Abraham didn’t receive the promise until his faith came to the point of what the bible called being “fully persuaded” (Romans 4:21). Faith that is not fully developed will lack the strength to hold fast firm to the end. 8 times we are told in the New Testament that we must “Hold fast” to the promise to the end. Here is another hold fast verse… Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised (Hebrews 10:22-23 KJV) Mrs. Nuzum said this… “The devil is busy trying to take from us what we get from God, and so God bids us hold fast.” Only a strong faith can hold fast to the end, a faith than judges God faithful. Quote: And the Lord said to Peter Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not:.. (Luke 22:31-32 KJV) There are many harvesting factors but I believe this is the reason most of God’s people don’t receive their harvests. Their faith fails them. In other words, they lack the spiritual strength to carry the promise through to a harvest. Abraham and Sarah are our first and greatest examples of Strong faith: Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. (Hebrews 11:11,12) To "judge" something is a legal terminology. Other translations say "considered". But to judge something is a much stronger word, it means it is once and for all a settled issue. It cannot be reversed. My faith is rested in that area of my life and I'm not picking it back up. Sarah didn’t always have this strong attitude of faith. Neither did Abraham. Somewhere along the way though they came to the place where they judged God faithful. Before then, she never doubted that God COULD do it, she knew that it was a promise from God But there was a lack of confidence that God WOULD do it. I want you to notice something; Sarah judged God faithful who made the promise before she could have faith for the promise. In other words, Sarah had to believe that God was faithful to His Word before she could have faith in His Word. You see many believers are doing this backwards. They are attempting to have faith in the promises without knowing the person who made those promises. Sarah judged God faithful. When you have faith in a person, faith in their word will come naturally. The bible says here that, “Sarah received strength to conceive…”. Having a strong faith, then means to have the spiritual strength to conceive & bring forth God’s promise in your own life. The same verse, tells us how Sarah received this “strength” or to conceive, “because she judged him faithful who had promised.” This is the step every believer must eventually take in order to experience God’s best in and for and through their own lives. What God promises you isn't just for your benefit. There are people that are depending on you to receive what God has for you,. Faith not to just bless your chickens in the backyard, but faith to change the world!! – Lester Sumrall Now look at verse 12. Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. (Hebrews 11:12 KJV) “Therefore sprang!” This is a harvest term. And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred. (Mark 4:8 KJV) Your faith needs to come to the place where you can hold fast to the promise long enough for it to spring forth into your life. Galatians 6:9 (KJV) And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. In Hebrews 11:11 we see where Sarah judged God faithful and in Romans 4:21 we see were Abraham judged God faithful: it says he was “fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. In Matthew 8:26 A great storm arose and Jesus rebuked His disciples “why are you so fearful oh ye of little faith”. Notice Jesus did not say they had no faith, He said they had little faith. For some reason, the disciple’s faith had not progressed beyond little. The only reason Jesus would rebuke someone for having little faith is if He knew they should’ve had more. The reason why many fail to receive their harvests is because they're strength is small; their faith has never grown to the point of becoming fully persuaded. Faith is what you believe today. Trust is still believing tomorrow, next month and next year what you believe today. Trusting God means “I believe the promise just as much now as I did when He first spoke it to me”. 13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong (1 Corinthians 16:13 KJV) one commentaries definition of quit: To behave oneself with the wisdom and courage of a man, as opposed to a baby or child in Christ.( CWSDict) People can disappoint you and let you down. But we must come to the point that you say God will never let me down. There were times when it looked like it, but he didn’t. He will never disappoint me he will never want to separate himself from me. Hebrews 13:5-6 (KJV) Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. (TPT) “I will never leave you alone, never! And I will not loosen my grip on your life!” (AMP) Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you norgive you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not,[I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake norlet [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] Lets look in Genesis 18 After Sarah overheard the angel tell Abraham she would have a baby she laughed in unbelief… Genes 18:12-14 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? 13 And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? 14 Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. Regarding God’s promise, we should always come back to this question, is anything too hard for the Lord? Before we ever make a judgment, ask ourselves, is there anything too hard for God to do? 17 Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: (Jeremiah 32:17 KJV) Two questions: what does the word say? And is anything too hard for the Lord? 3 words that best describe when believers have grown to full-grown faith: Or,… 3 byproducts of having judged God faithful, reaching full-grown faith. 1. You find rest when you judge God faithful. Matthew 11:29 take my yoke upon you and you will find rest for your souls. 2. You find peace when you judge God faithful. When you find God’s peace inside of you it is not a feeling. I’m not looking for a feeling, but I am now in harmony with what God has declared that he has done for me. 3. You find joy when you judge God faithful. When you find joy it always comes as a calm delight without the emotions of doubt and fear. It’s when the joy of the Lord becomes your strength. When those three things are operating in your life you can know that you have reached a level of full-grown faith. You’re confident that God will withhold no good thing for them that walk uprightly before him.

Eyes & Ears

Matt 13:13 Therefore I speak to them in parables; because while seeing they do not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. 15 for the heart of this people has become dull, with their ears they scarcely hear, and they have closed their eyes, otherwise they would see with their eyes, hear with their ears, and understand with their heart and return, and I would heal them.’ HEARING IS NOT BASED ON INTELLIGENCE. ONE OF THE QUICKEST WAYS TO HEAR GOD’S VOICE IS BEST ACHIEVED BY WORSHIP. Ps 95:6 Come, let us worship and bow down, Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. 7 For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you would hear His voice, 8 Do not harden your hearts, YOU CAN’T MAKE GOD SPEAK TO YOU BUT YOU CAN MAKE YOURSELF AVAILABLE. EXAMPLES OF MEN OF GOD WHO HEARD HIS VOICE... MOSES – SOLITUDE – NOTICE, THERE WAS A PLACE WHERE GOD SPOKE TO MOSES. ELIJAH – Persistent in prayer – 1 Kings 19:11 So He said, “Go forth and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD was passing by! And a great and strong wind was rending the mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a gentle blowing. KJV “a still small voice.” MSG “a gentle and quiet whisper.” STRENGHT AND NEW DIRECTION COME FROM HEARING HIS VOICE. JEREMIAH – Location, location, location Jer 18:1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD saying, 2 “Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will announce My words to you.” THERE ARE TIMES YOU HAVE TO BE IN THE RIGHT PLACE TO HEAR HIM SAMUEL – Trained in the temple/a mouthpiece for God 1 Samuel 3:1 Now the boy Samuel was ministering to the LORD before Eli. And word from the LORD was rare in those days, visions were infrequent. 3 Samuel was lying down in the temple of the LORD where the ark of God was, 4 that the LORD called Samuel; and he said, “Here I am.” 5 Then he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” But he said, “I did not call, lie down again.” So he went and lay down. 6 The LORD called yet again, “Samuel!” So Samuel arose and went to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” But he answered, “I did not call, my son, lie down again.” 7 Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, nor had the word of the LORD yet been revealed to him. KNOWING THE LORD IS IN CONNECTION WITH HIS VOICE. 8 So the LORD called Samuel again for the third time. And he arose and went to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” Then Eli discerned that the LORD was calling the boy. 9 And Eli said to Samuel, “Go lie down, and it shall be if He calls you, that you shall say, ‘Speak, LORD, for Your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 10 Then the LORD came and stood and called as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel said, “Speak, for Your servant is listening.” PEOPLE WHO KNOW GOD HEAR HIS WORD/VOICE. HOW TO CONFIRM / KNOW IT’S GOD SPEAKING TO YOU 1) ALWAYS ASK, DOES IT LINE UP WITH THE SCRIPTURES? (TRUTH) THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE AUTHOR OF ALL SCRIPTURE. 2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. TO WALK IN THE SCRIPTURE IS TO WALK IN THE LIGHT (Ps 119:105) 2) GOD’S VOICE WILL ALWAYS PRODUCE PEACE. Col 3:15 Let the peace of Christ RULE in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be THANKFUL. 16 Let the WORD of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with THANKFULNESS in your hearts to God. WE HAVE AN INWARD UMPIRE. 3) THROUGH OUR FELLOW BELIEVERS Acts 13:1 Now there were at Antioch, in the church that was there, prophets and teachers: Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” 3 Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. PAUL MENTIONS IN SEVERAL LETTERS THAT HIS APOSTLESHIP WAS NOT OF MAN BUT FROM GOD (Gal 1:1) GOD CONFIRMED IT THROUGH MEN. WHY WOULD GOD DO THAT? 1) IT STRENGTHENED PAULS FAITH. 2) IT ALSO VALIDATED PAULS CALL TO THE PREACH 3) IT ALSO EMPHASISED THE INTERDEPENDENCE OF THE MEMBERS OF CHRISTS BODY THE CONFIRMATION PAUL AND BARNABAS GOT CAME THROUGH FELLOW BELIEVERS OF PROVEN INTEGRITY AND MATURITY. SPIRITUAL MEN DO NOT GO AHEAD AND MOVE WITHOUT THE CONFIRMATION OF FELLOW BELIEVERS. OUR ABILITY TO HEAR GOD THROUGH OTHERS DEPENDS TO LARGE EXTENT ON THE NATURE OF OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THEM. THERE ARE 3 SPECIAL RELATIONSHIPS THE NEW TESTAMENT ATTACHES SPECIAL IMPORTANCE TO IN THIS AREA. 1) PASTORS AND THEIR PEOPLE 2) HUSBANDS AND WIVES 3) PARENTS AND CHILDREN PASTORS AND THEIR PEOPLE Heb 13:7 Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith. IT’S NORMAL AND RIGHT FOR GOD’S PEOPLE TO HEAR THROUGH THEIR LEADERS HUSBANDS AND WIVES. Eph 5:22-24 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. GOD HAS MADE THE HUSBAND RESPONSIBLE FOR CARING FOR THE WIFE AS WELL AS HER SPIRITUAL CONDITION PARENTS AND CHILDREN Eph 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. GOD CAN CONFIRM THINGS THROUGH THE PARENTS. WE SHOULD EXPECT TO HEAR THE VOICE OF GOD THROUGH THESE RELATIONSHIPS Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.

This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. JOHN USED THREE THEMES THROUGHOUT THE FIVE CHAPTERS; OBEDIENCE, LOVE AND TRUTH. A SPIRIT CONTROLLED MIND KNOWS AND UNDERSTANDS TRUTH, A SPIRIT CONTROLLED HEART FLOWS IN LOVE, AND A SPIRIT CONTROLLED WILL INCLINES US TO OBEDIENCE; THERE ARE BASICALLY THREE MOTIVES FOR OBEDIENCE; WE MUST OBEY, WE NEED TO OBEY, WE WANT TO OBEY A SLAVE OBEYS BECAUSE HE MUST... AN EMPLOYEE OBEYS BECAUSE HE NEEDS TO OBEY... BUT A CHRISTIAN OBEYS HIS FATHER BECAUSE HE WANT TO OBEY... A CONNECTION WITH THE 3 LEVELS OF MATURITY MENTIONED IN 1 Jn 2:12-14 2:12 I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven you for His name’s sake. 13 I am writing to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. THREE TYPES OF CHRISTIANS, ACCORDING TO THEIR MATURITY LEVELS. THE “LITTLE CHILDREN” WHOSE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE AND EXCITEMENT REVOLVES AROUND THE KNOWLEDGE THAT THEIR SINS HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN. THE 2ND LEVEL OF CHRISTIAN MATURITY IS THE YOUNG. THEY ARE STRONG IN GOD’S WORD AND HAVE OVERCOME THE DEVIL (Vs 14). THE LAST GROUP IS THE “MATURE” WHO KNOW CHRIST. THESE PEOPLE, WALKING IN CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. THIS BOOK DEALS WITH WORLDLINESS. WORLDLINESS IS NOT SO MUCH A MATTER OF ACTIVITY AS IT IS AN ATTITUDE. WORLDLINESS NOT ONLY AFFECTS YOUR REPSONSE TO THE LOVE OF GOD, BUT IT ALSO AFFECTS YOUR REPONSE TO THE WILL OF GOD. 1 Jn 2:17 The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever. JOHN EXPOSES THE WORLDS SYSTEM WHICH USES THREE DEVICES TO TRAP CHRISTAINS. LUST OF THE FLESH, EYES, AND PRIDE OF LIFE. FIRST, FRIENDSHIP OF THE WORLD DEVELOPS: James 4:4 You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. THEN THE CHRISTIAN BECOMES SPOTTED BY THE WORLD: James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. THIRDLY, THE BELIEVER BECOMES CONFORMED TO THE WORLD: Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. FOURTHLY, HE BECOMES CONDEMENED WITH THE WORLD: 1 Cor 11:32 But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world. GOD WAS WARNING HIS FAMILY ABOUT CONFLICT BETWEEN LIGHT AND DARKNESS, LOVE AND HATRED, AND TRUTH AND ERROR. THEME VERSE 1 John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. 2 JOHN 2 John HE IS GOING TO HIGHLIGHT TRUTH AND IT IS SOMETHING THAT WE ARE TO WALK IN. John USES THE WORD TRUTH FIVE TIMES IN THE FIST 4 VERSES. ABIDING AFFECTS OUR LIFESTYLE THE WORD NEEDS TO BECOMES NATURAL IN ACTION... JOHN’S SPECIAL BURDEN IS THAT CHRISTIANS LOVE ONE ANOTHER. OUR PICTURE OF JESUS IN 2 & 3 JOHN IS “TRUTH AND LOVE” 6 And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it. THEME VERSE 2 John 5 Now I ask you, lady, not as though I were writing to you a new commandment, but the one which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another. 3 JOHN JOHN USES “BELOVED” WHICH IN THE GREEK APPEARS TEN TIMES IN THESE THREE EPISTLES. “The one Whom I love in the truth” (Vs 1) HE KICKS OFF THE IMPORANCE OF KNOWNG GOD’S WILL TO PROSPER AND BE IN HEALTH AS OUR SOUL PROSPERS (2) I BELIEVE SOUL PROSPERITY IS GROWING IN THE WISDOM OF GOD Prov 3:16 Long life is in her right hand; In her left hand are riches and honor. JOHN EXHORTS THE READER TO “imitate what is good, not what is evil” (Vs 11) THEME VERSE TPT 3 John 2 Beloved friend, I pray that you are prospering in every way and that you continually enjoy good health, just as your soul is prospering. JUDE JUDE WAS THE HALF BROTHER OF JESUS. HE CALLS HIMSELF A BOND-SERVANT OF JESUS AND BROTHER OF JAMES (Vs 1). JUDE’S GREAT DESIRE WAS TO KEEP PEOPLE FROM FALLING SPIRITUALLY; HE WAS CONTENDING FOR THE FAITH (Vs 3) JUDE TALKS ABOUT BACKSLIDING OR APOSTASY THERE ARE THREE MAJOR CHARACTERISTICS OF AND APOSTATE HE IS UNGODLY (Vs 4) HE TURNS GRACE INTO LASCIVIOUSNESS (Vs 4) HE DENIES THAT JESUS IS LORD (Vs 4) ENOCH PROPHECIES ABOUT THE DOOM AND JUDGMENT ON THE UNGODLY. 14 It was also about these men that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord came with many thousands of His holy ones, 15 to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” HE GIVES THREE THINGS THAT CAUSE PEOPLE TO BACKSLIDE. HE USES 3 PEOPLE AS EXAMPLES TO TEACH US. (MEN ENOCH REFERED TO) (Vs 11) THE WAY OF CAIN, THE ERROR OF BALAAM, AND THE REBELLION OF KORAH. CAIN, HIS HEART WASN’T RIGHT... HE WOULD NOT CORRECT IT. 1 John 3:11 For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another; 12 not as Cain, who was of the evil one and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous. DOCTRINE KEEPS HEART RIGHT. WHEN WE ARE ASLEEP TO THE TRUTH WE ARE IN TROUBLE. BALAAM... HE SOLD OUT FOR MONEY... HE SACRIFICED HIS FAITH TO GET MONEY... MONEY BECAME MORE IMPORTANT THAN GOD’S WILL. KORAH... HE GOT INTO PRIDE. HE WANTED TO BE THE LEADER. THE REBELLION WAS A LUST FOR POWER. Vs 12-13 HE USES FIVE WORD PICTURES FOR THIS APOSTASY. THE EARTH – “LIKE HIDDEN ROCKS – UNSEEN DANGERS” THE AIR – LIKE CLOUDS WITHOUT WATER – OFFERING FALSE PROMISES AND CARRIED BY THE WIND OR EVIL SPIRITS. THE TREES – “LIKE TREES THAT ARE DEAD TO THE FRUIT OF PROFESSION AND DEAD TO THE ROOT OF POSSESSION THE SEA – “LIKE WILD WAVES – PUTTING FORTH WASTED EFFORTS THE STARRY HEAVENS – “LIKE WANDERING STARS—AIMLESS IN THEIR COURSE. THE CONTRASTS ARE; THAT INSTEAD OF DANGEROUS ROCKS, WE CAN BE LIVING STONES; INSTEAD OF WATERLESS CLOUDS, WE CAN BE A SOURCE OF LIVING WATER; INSTEAD OF DEAD TREES, WE CAN BE TREES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS; INSTEAD OF RAGING WAVES, WE CAN BE LIKE PEAEFUL RIVERS; INSTEAD OF WANDERING STARS, WE CAN SINE AS THE STARS FOREVER AND EVER. OUR PICTURE OF JESUS IN JUDE IS “OUR SPIRITUAL ANCHOR” WE CAN KEEP OURSELVES IN THE LOVE OF GOD. WE CAN BUILD OURSELVES UP ON OUR MOST HOLY FAITH BY PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT. (Vs 20-21) WE CAN LET THE WORD OF GRACE BUILD US UP, AND WE CAN KEEP LOOKING FOR CHRIST’S RETURN. THEME VERSE Jude 3 Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints.

Matt 13:11 Jesus answered them, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted. 12 For whoever has to him more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him. 13 Therefore I speak to them in parables; because while seeing they do not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. 15 for the heart of this people has become dull, with their ears they scarcely hear, and they have closed their eyes, otherwise they would see with their eyes, hear with their ears, and understand with their heart and return, and I would heal them.’ HEARING IS THE KEY FACTOR FOR SUCCESS IN OUR WALK WITH GOD HEARING IS NOT BASED ON INTELLIGENCE. DEVELOPING “A HEARING HEART” 1 Kings 3:9 So give Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?” “UNDERSTANDING HEART” IN THE HEBREW LITERALLY MEANS, “A HEARING HEART” 4 AREAS FOR CULTIVATION; ATTENTION, HUMILITY, TIME AND QUIETNESS WORSHIP IS KEY. Ps 95:6 Come, let us worship and bow down, Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. 7 For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you would hear His voice, 8 Do not harden your hearts, PREPARATION FOR HEARING GOD’S VOICE IS BEST ACHIEVED BY WORSHIP. (Acts 13:2) N.T. Example YOU CAN’T MAKE GOD SPEAK TO YOU BUT YOU CAN MAKE YOURSELF AVAILABLE. MEN OF GOD WHO HEARD HIS VOICE. MOSES – SOLITUDE – (40 Years in desert) Numb 7:89 Now when Moses went into the tent of meeting to speak with Him, he heard the voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim, so He spoke to him. THERE WAS A PLACE WHERE GOD SPOKE TO MOSES. THIS MERCY SEAT WAS A PLACE WHERE THE BLOOD WAS SPRINKLED TO COVER AND FORGIVE SIN. SIN IN OUR LIVES WILL ALWAYS KEEP US FROM HEARING FROM THE LORD. Matt 6:6 But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. Isaiah 30:15 In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength.” But you were not willing, ELIJAH – Persistent in prayer 1 Kings 18 HE HEARD THE WORD OF THE LORD CONCERNING RAIN. HE CAME TO MT HOREB WHERE GOD HAD MADE HIS FIRST COVENANT WITH ISREAL. 1 Kings 19:11 So He said, “Go forth and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD was passing by! KJV “a still small voice.” MSG “a gentle and quiet whisper.” 13 When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. 13 And behold, a voice came to him and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” STRENGHT AND NEW DIRECTION COME FROM HEARING HIS VOICE. JEREMIAH – Location, location, location Jer 18:1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD saying, 2 “Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will announce My words to you.” THERE ARE TIMES YOU HAVE TO BE IN THE RIGHT PLACE TO HEAR HIM 3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something on the wheel. 4 But the vessel that he was making of clay was spoiled in the hand of the potter; so he remade it into another vessel, as it pleased the potter to make. 5 Then the word of the LORD came to me saying, 6 “Can I not, O house of Israel, deal with you as this potter does?” declares the LORD. JEREMIAH COULDN’T GET THE MESSAGE UNTIL HE WAS IN THE RIGHT PLACE. SAMUEL – Trained in the temple/a mouthpiece for God 1 Samuel 3:3 Samuel was lying down in the temple of the LORD where the ark of God was, 4 that the LORD called Samuel; and he said, “Here I am.” 5 Then he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” But he said, “I did not call, lie down again.” So he went and lay down. GOD WILL NEVER TELL YOU SOMETHING CONTRARY TO HIS WORD. 2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. GOD’S VOICE WILL ALWAYS PRODUCE PEACE.
