Understanding the Old Testament gives us a more robust understanding of Jesus, and understanding Jesus gives us a more robust understanding of the Old Testament. We find Jesus in the Exodus account... a foreshadowing of God's ultimate deliverance through Christ.

In the Akedah test (the binding of Isaac), Abraham faced a test of devotion to determine whether he desired the blessings of God more than he desired God Himself. This account has key threads to the New Testament: the one and only Son, the substitute ram, and the blessing fulfilled in Christ. Have you lifted your eyes to see the Lord's provision for your salvation?
