Walk This Way

Give

August 27, 2023 • Rev. Jason Mincey • Matthew 28:18–20

Three thousand years ago, King David presided over history’s first church stewardship campaign.  The congregation’s response was immediate and overwhelming.  In just a few short days, they amassed more than enough resources to build a magnificent Temple, where they would gather to worship God for the next four hundred years.    Why was it so easy?  Why were the people so ready and willing to give so generously?  When it comes to giving, it usually comes down to relationships.  Two relationships, specifically: your relationship with God, and your relationship with “your stuff.”

Go

August 20, 2023 • Rev. Wendy Jones • Matthew 28:18–20, Matthew 25:34–40

We are instructed to share the love of Jesus. We do so when we serve and care for those in need. When we invest in others, we change hearts and lives, including our own! Followers of Jesus grow and become more like Jesus when we GO into the community to serve others.

Grow

August 13, 2023 • Rev. Wendy Jones • Matthew 28:18–20, Luke 8:4–8, Luke 8:11–15, Colossians 2:6–7

We are always in the process of becoming something... the question is, what or who are we becoming? The investments that we make in our relationship with God and others informs who we are becoming.  Followers of Jesus grow and become more like Jesus when we invest in our relationship with God and others, in groups that grow our faith.

Gather

August 6, 2023 • Rev. Wendy Jones • Matthew 28:18–20, Deuteronomy 31:12–13, Hebrews 10:23–25

We are better together. This isn’t just a catchy saying or a good idea – it's true! Throughout the Bible, we are instructed to do everyday life with God and with others. Because we are better together! Followers of Jesus grow and become more like Jesus when we gather in worship.
