I am the Way, the Truth and the Life

Life pulls us different directions, so many, that sometimes it is difficult to dicern which way to go. We are inindated with informaiton, opinions, and varying perspectives, so many, that sometimes it is difficult to discern what is true. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life.” This self-proclaimed name for Jesus helps us to walk in the way that leads to life and truth.
I am the Vine

The vine is the supplier and sustainer, the giver of life to all the other parts of the plant; the branches, the leaves and even the fruit. Jesus said, “I am the vine.” This self-proclaimed name for Jesus reminds us that we are dependent on Jesus, to be our sustainer and the source of all good things that come from or through us.
I am the Good Shepherd

A good shepherd goes above and beyond what is required to ensure that their sheep are protected and provided with everything they need. Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd.” This self-proclaimed name for Jesus is a reminder that Jesus is with us and for us, always protecting and providing.
I am the Light of the World

I Am Who I Am

Long before Jesus gave himself a series of names beginning with the words I am, God said, “I am who I am.” This may seem like a strange name, but it literally means to be or to exist. In other words, God is saying: I exist. I was. I am. I always will be. I am present. I am here. I am real. In knowing this God who is – we discover God’s grace and goodness.
