Dear Green Valley Church family and friends,
“We have not been in circumstances like this before
and there is no turning back now” - Pastor Dennis Smith
Earlier this year, our GVCC campus suffered a severe land slide behind the education building. Green Valley Christian School was closed immediately, and two weeks later, reopened using our worship center and implementing a hybrid model of teaching the children.
Immediately, with the initiative of Administrative Pastor Yvonne and the efforts of Pastor Leon, a world-class team of geological engineers and construction experts came together and began working on our property problems. A construction plan was proposed and approved by the city. As a church family, we voted on whether to take on the challenge of prayerfully securing the funds required to “repair the breach” in our physical campus, the vote came back overwhelmingly in support of moving forward together. The repair is now underway, with the expectation of welcoming back children and their families to Green Valley School and Preschool on August 17.
To accomplish this massive vision, we as a family and community need to collectively raise two million dollars ($2,000,000). With many of you asking for updates and a way to contribute to this work of restoration, we have created a GoFundMe page. It is also possible to simply write a check to Green Valley Church with designation to the “Building for Life” campaign.
We can all say with enthusiasm, that it has been an honor and blessing to serve the Watsonville community as a church for 90 years! We know that God will provide for the restoration of our physical campus, even as He is inviting us to a season of restoration of hearts, minds, and relationships; all things are possible through Him.
Thank you for your willingness to consider sharing in this; generously praying, believing, and giving as the Lord would encourage you to do so.
The Lord Bless you,
Green Valley Church Leadership
