Our Disaster Relief chainsaw crews have been called up to work the damage done in Northwest Arkansas and the Mountain Home area. We have three opportunities for you. You are welcome to do any of the three or all of them!
Saturday, June 1 - One day of work at Hiding Place Hollow. Mike Smith will be leading this team. They will leave from the church at 7am. HPH was hit by a tornado and sustained quite a bit of damage.
Monday, June 3 - Don Lehman will be leading a crew up to NWA to work next week. The base of operation will be Elmdale Baptist Church. We are still working on the details of what time and when this crew will leave and return. It will probably be leaving sometime on Monday morning and returning home sometime on Friday or Saturday.
Sunday, June 9 - Scott Ward will be leading a crew back up to Rogers. We will leave sometime Sunday evening around 6pm and return Friday evening after working that day.
We will need those folks that are experienced with chainsaws and those who can simply drag a limb! There is a lot of work! This will not cost you any money. All of the transportation, food, and lodging are taken care of. For those going on the week-long trips, you will need to bring bedding (air mattress, cot, sheets. blankets, pillows, etc.) and bathroom stuff. You will need some good boots, gloves, and eye protection. We have everything else, including helmets, chaps, chainsaws, etc. Onsite there will be shower and laundry facilities, so you will not need to bring a lot of clothes.
