For All Time

The First of Many

March 31, 2024 • Chris Meads • 1 Corinthians 15:50–58

On Easter Sunday, Interim Pastor Chris Meads preaches about the future hope secured by Jesus' resurrection from the dead. He declares that though death currently reigns and separates humanity from God, Jesus has dethroned death through His victory on the cross. Chris explains that when Christ returns, believers' perishable bodies will be instantly transformed into imperishable, immortal bodies fit to reign with Christ forever. Death will be mocked and swallowed up in this indescribable triumph over sin. Therefore, disciples of Jesus can be steadfast and immovable, fervently doing the Lord's work, knowing their labor matters because of the reality of resurrection day to come.

Jesus our Mediating King and High Priest

March 24, 2024 • Chris Meads • John 14:16–17, John 14:26, Romans 5:10, Hebrews 7:23–25, Hebrews 10:1–4

On Palm Sunday, Interim Pastor Chris Meads preaches about the present implications of Jesus' resurrection and how it assures eternal salvation. He explains that while the old priestly system could not permanently deal with sin, Jesus now serves as the forever high priest. His death on the cross justifies believers, but His ongoing life and eternal intercession secure their sanctification, perseverance, and complete redemption. Christ always lives to pray for those who draw near to God through Him, guaranteeing their faith will reach its intended fulfillment. Meads encourages the congregation to rely on their living, interceding Savior rather than themselves as He holds up their relationship with God.

Christ Vindicated

March 17, 2024 • Bobby Padgett

Pastor Bobby Padgett teaches on how the Old Testament prophets foretold the coming of Jesus as the Messiah. He walks through various prophecies in Genesis, Deuteronomy, 2 Samuel, and Isaiah that reveal details about the Messiah being the seed of the woman who will crush evil, the suffering servant who dies and rises again, the prophet like Moses, and the Son of David who will reign forever. Bobby then shows how the New Testament gospels witness the fulfillment of these prophecies in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Based on the validity of the prophetic revelations and their realization in Christ, Padgett exhorts believers to live with confidence in the power of the resurrection, obeying God wholeheartedly as faithful witnesses to the reality of who Jesus is.
