Raised to Life

Baptism - Raised to Life

May 5, 2024 • Neil Montgomery • Matthew 28:18–20

It's a Celebration Sunday as we get to participate in the baptisms of several folks who have trusted Christ with their eternity. Each of those being baptized represents a person who changed the trajectory of their story. A new chapter has begun as they go public with their faith. It's a story that has changed them, according to the Bible, from old to new--from death to life--from lost to found--from blind to seeing. It's a story of a heart that has come home and that story is not meant to be celebrated alone. It's meant to be told. It's meant to be remembered. Baptism is a declaration...a celebration...a welcoming party--a symbol of faith...of new life...of victory--because we have a God who changed the story. Join us in the celebration!

Baptism - Into the Waters

April 7, 2024 • Neil Montgomery • Matthew 28:16–18, Acts 8:1, Acts 8:4–6, Acts 8:26–38, Romans 6:3–4

On Easter we celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus. Without this victory over death, there would be no hope for any of us. Following the biblical narrative, before Jesus ascended into heaven, He commissioned His followers to "carry on" His work--which was to develop others into disciples...followers...apprentices of Jesus. However, right after that they are charged to "baptize them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit." Baptism is a symbolic picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When a Christian is immersed in the water, this person is identifying with Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. They are also making a public declaration of faith in Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Jesus commanded His followers to be baptized. If you are new to faith in Christ, or have never been baptized, we would love to come alongside you as you take this important step in your spiritual journey!   Join us this Sunday as we talk about “Baptism”.
