March 20, 2023 Dear Church family, In January of this year, 7 of us from Grace of Christ visited the Home of Love orphanage as part of a mission trip to Cambodia. This orphanage was founded in 2002 to serve children who were orphaned and/or homeless as a result of the violence in Cambodia during the Pol Pot regime and the resulting fallout in its aftermath. Since that time, it has served hundreds of children and raised them based on Godly principles. As a result, many Cambodian children have reached adulthood with loving care, spiritual and academic educations, and bright hope for the future. The orphanage was originally funded by the support of an American, but this individual died in 2019, and there has been no consistent source of support since. Grace of Christ Mission Ministry provided some support from 2009-2017. Home of Love has had a strong relationship with YWAM Battambang for over 10 years. Roof $7,016.00 Ceiling $1,266.50 Room Division $2,314.80 Electrical $748.50 Total $11,345.80 As the rainy season is eminently upon Cambodia, Home of Love Orphanage has an urgent need. The roof of the dormitory where the children sleep is in desperate need of repair. Like many projects in your own home, when you fix one thing, problems in adjacent areas surface. The founder of the orphanage, Vanny Ouch, has provided the following solid bid to repair the roof, ceiling, and provide more privacy for the children. When we visited the orphanage, we were impressed by how the children were well cared for, happy, confident, and had talents that they learned at the orphanage. They led us in worship and even have formed their own worship band! These skills will go with them well beyond their life in the orphanage. You are invited to join us on Sunday March 26th, in the Adult Ed Room, at 10:15 am, to come hear of the need, ask questions, and determine if you would like to join us in meeting the needs of this orphanage.
