Jesus' idea - the church - isn't perfect. Far from it. But is the church good? While there are plenty of flaws to see, Jesus' followers can never lose sight of who we are. We, the church, are the local, visible, outposts of his kingdom, and we all get to be part of building the church into what Jesus intended it to be... Good.

The church isn't perfect, but we are under the promise of progress. Jesus is building his church and inviting us to build it with him. Jesus was clear. The defenses of hell are no match for a Spirit-empowered church. We get to take back territory for the kingdom of Jesus!

God's purpose for the church was never that we would be a comfortable place for Christians to hide from the world. He commissioned us to keep on going, keep on loving, keep on doing the work and ministry of healing people and sharing his truth. Not only did he promise to go with us; he left us with a strategy by which to complete our mission.
