“So that He might be first in every realm" (Col 1:18). This is the theme of Colossians - The Preeminence and the Excellence of Christ over all things! Every realm - you personally, your family, your church! Christ desires to be in first place. He must be first. If God rescued you from darkness and you’re in Christ’s kingdom - then the King comes first! He’s the most important, more glorious, more precious. But here’s the question: When you look at and analyze the church, how could you tell whether or not this church is concerned about Christ? Are there tell-tale signs of a church where Christ is the True Head - not just in position but in practice? Theme: A Church where Christ comes first is where the Peace of Christ rules the church, the Word of Christ permeates the church, and the Name of Christ dominates the church. Outline: 1. The Peace of Christ Rules the Church - vs. 15 2. The Word of Christ Permeates the Church - vs. 16 3. The Name of Christ Dominates the Church - vs. 17
