When Judas betrayed Jesus in the garden, Peter reacted by pulling out his sword, but it wasn't time for that. There are times we need to pull out our sword (the Word) and wield it, but we really need to seek God, because sometimes we need to pull our a sponge instead and be a servant. We are called to be shepherds, not cowboys!

It's amazing that we can take our needs and our wants to Him, but we need to pray for God's will to be done. When we are walking in His will, every prayer can be answered with a yes. Jesus went to His Father in agony, but even though going to the cross was difficult, he prayed for God's will to be done.

Two Fathers & the Passover Lamb

At the last supper, Jesus explained the key to the narrative of the entire Bible. He is the Passover Lamb. He is our salvation. Communion is an important way that we remember and reflect on the grace and mercy that was poured out on us at the cross. It is symbolic, but it is also sacred.
