Each year in the Fall, we step away to reflect, connect, and learn alongside other women who are interested in growing spiritually together. This year, we invite you to join us as we dig deeper into the topics of building community and developing friendships.
We'll be joined by special guest speakers who will share their wisdom in building friendships and community with us.
Dr. Julie Shannon
As a seasoned speaker and author, Julie Shannon is a champion of practical compassion, community care, and courageous transformation. She draws deeply from her personal journey-transforming life's most profound challenges into messages of hope and community. Julie has a heart for helping women walk through life with honesty, grace, and renewed perspective.
Since receiving her Doctor of Educational Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary, Julie has gone on to write several books and launched The Bearing Life podcast. Through her work she
encourages others ot find strength ni community and to embrace authentic connection with God and with one another.
Miriam Fretheim
Miriam Mattay Fretheim grew up at GBC as the daughter of long-time members Carl and Martha Mattay. She has an education degree from Baylor and a Master of Biblical Studies degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. Miriam and her husband have been missionaries in Nigeria for over 26 years. In Nigeria she taught at Hillcrest International School for 11 years, taught many women’s Bible studies, began a women’s center, and provides administrative help with City Ministries. She also mentors and provides chaplaincy care for many Nigerian and missionary women.

Grace Kids Children's Programming will be offered from 9 AM to 12 PM and is also included in the ticket price. Childcare provided by Women of Grace will be offered from 12 PM to 5 PM. Deadline to register for childcare is October 11.
