Romans 13:1 is a conveniently frustrating passage for some Christians, especially when their political party is NOT in power. If you lean to the political left, and the right is in power, chances are you’re a little more embracing of the idea of resisting the government (and vice versa). So, the question is, “Is it every appropriate for followers of Jesus to resist the government in a non-violent-protest-kind-of-way?” Well, it may be surprising to you that the answer to that is, “Yes”; the real question is when and how resistance should happen.

There’s name-calling, trolling, and demonizing of anyone who opposes our point of view, and we have entire TV networks and radio personalities that stoke that fire on a daily basis, sometimes hourly. So, in this two-part series, the question we want to ask is, “What does Jesus think of this?”
