Forerunner is someone or something that comes before the arrival or development of someone or something. The book of Mark starts off with the forerunner of Jesus, John the Baptist. John's purpose was to point people to Jesus and to get ready for His arrival. His purpose of being a forerunner is the same one that was entrusted to us.
