Christmas Day Devotional
December 25, 2022 • Pastor Luke Wilbanks
We know that Christmas morning can be filled with frenzy and fun, but we also know that Christmas morning can usher in sadness, unmet expectations, and the letdown of an entire month of anticipation as well. What do we do when the climax of the season isn’t what we hope it would be? We’d like to invite you this Christmas morning to be reminded of the good news of Jesus Christ! We invite you to join us in this Christmas morning devotional as Pastor Luke reminds us that the arrival of the Light of Jesus changes everything for our past, present and future and that we are invited to worship Him, not a season, this Christmas Day. Let us come together…young and old, singles and families, homes filled with crazy and homes filled with silence… as we look to Jesus and worship Him as the True Light that breaks through the darkness!
Part 3: Jesus The Light
December 18, 2022 • Pastor Kyle Rogers • Isaiah 42:1–9, Luke 1:67–79
Darkness is everywhere and we get discouraged when we consider the sin, suffering and evil of this world. We need something to light up that darkness and it can’t be our Christmas lights, our cell phone lights, or our spotlights. We need the True Light, Jesus Christ, to come and at Christmas we remember that this Light has broken through the darkness! And if Jesus is the Light, you and I don’t need to live in darkness any longer.
Part 2: Jesus The Righteous
December 11, 2022 • Trevor Ice • Isaiah 11:1–6, Luke 1:26–38
We chase empty things this time of year that leave us feeling disillusioned and without hope. This season, may we instead worship Jesus in His righteousness and be filled with joyful hope as eternal citizens of his Kingdom. He is our true north.
Part 1: Jesus The King
December 4, 2022 • Pastor Kyle Rogers • Isaiah 9:1–7, Matthew 2:1–6
What happens when we try to be our own little kings and queens and what happens when we place our hope in the rulers of this earth? We don’t have to look any further than the book of Isaiah to learn that brokenness, sorrow, and despair follow those that try to rule their own lives. However, there is hope! In the midst of their sin, God gives his people the promise of a Wonderful King, a Mighty King, an Everlasting King, and a King of Peace that will rescue them forever from their sin. The Christmas story declares that Jesus is that King and that God's people can surrender today and have hope for tomorrow because of the Kingship of Jesus Christ!
