Heart for the House

We’re going to finish off the year strong with our Heart for the House series which provides us all an opportunity to join in on advancing our vision forward.

Get Out Of The Tent

December 10, 2023 • Pastor Paul Vaughan • Genesis 15:1–6

This week we continue with our annual end of year giving initiative titled "Heart for the House." This week will be the grand finale for the series and we are calling it Give Sunday. I pray that this series has been a blessing to you all. A challenging series that teaches us to not focus so much about our money but instead helps us in preparing our hearts to be able to answer the call to where God is calling us to, as individuals and a church body.  The title of this week's message is "Get Out Of The Tent." In this message we look at the story in Genesis 15:1-6 where God promised Abram and Sari as many children as stars in the sky. And all they had to do was be faithful in obeying Him. We learn that initially they were full of bold faith and believed God's promise would come to pass. However, after several years of waiting (approx 15-20 yrs) we find Abram and Sari becoming less faithful and discourage waiting for God's promise. In this story we see that God comes to reaffirm His promise to Abram and finds him in his tent discouraged and losing faith. Like Abram we also can get discouraged and find ourselves in our tent with our faith, while we wait on God's promises for us.  I believe God has more in store for your life! God wants you "out of your tent," out of your limitations of perspective and comfort. God wants to do more in your life, more than you think, more that you've seen, more than you can imagine. He wants to grow you and stretch you, and He wants you to have BIG faith as you step into 2024! I believe this will be a message that challenges us to "Get Out Of Our Tent," not only in our finances but also in our faith and what we are believing God for in 2024. He is calling us to let our faith rise up and believe that what He promises us, He will fulfill. Not only in our individual lives but also in our church! What On Earth Are You Doing?

December 3, 2023 • Pastor Paul Vaughan • Luke 8:1–3

This week we continue with our annual end of year giving initiative titled "Heart for the House." This is one of my favorite initiatives that we do. It is not so much about money but it is about us preparing our heart to be able to answer the call to where God is calling us too. The title of this week's message is "What Are You Doing." This is part three of our Heart for the House series. In this message we will learn that Jesus loves to receive from those who love to give back to Him. He loves it because when we give back to Him, out of love, we have finally dialed in to our purpose. And the enemy hates that. The enemy does not want you to experience the joy, satisfaction, and provision that comes when you become generous.  So we give because of what Jesus has brought us through, what He's blessed us with, and because we want to be a part of His mission. So, What On Earth Are You Doing? We are on earth to give. We were made for this!  Scripture: Luke 8:1-3 ___________________________________________________________________________ See our Web Site: https://http://www.thegoodshepherdchurch.com Subscribe to us on YouTube: https://http://www.youtube.com/@gsbcde Follow us on Facebook: https://facebook.com/gsbcde Give us a Google Review: https://form.church/greview See us on Instagram: https://http://www.instagram.com/gsbcde See our Sermons on Sermon Cloud: https://good-shepherd-baptist-church.http://sermoncloud.com See us online at http://gsbcde.online.church Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/gsbcde Follow us on Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/user118560494 Follow us on Pinterest: https://pin.it/3vn7liv Follow us on Tumblr:  https://gsbcde.tumblr.com Text "Welcome" to 302-205-0558 Connect with us at: https://app.http://textinchurch.com/groups/extform/mtc0ndq3 Support us with your donations at: https://bit.ly/3j24uq1 Our goal is to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Savior – Jesus Christ. It Might Not Be Easy

November 26, 2023 • Pastor Paul Vaughan • 2 Kings 3:9–20

This week we continue with our annual end of year giving initiative titled "Heart for the House." This is one of my favorite initiatives that we do. It is not so much about money but it is about us preparing our heart to be able to answer the call to where God is calling us too. The title of this week's message is "It Might Not Be Easy." This is part two of our Heart for the House series. In this message we will learn that there may be times where it seems that we are waiting for God to move in our lives, and all the while, He's waiting for us to move with our faith. God wants to fill every need in your life, but He often invites us into the process. It might not be easy to hear God's voice. It might not be easy to give something this year, or to trust God when what He says doesn't make sense. It might not be easy, but it will be worth it! What It's All About

November 19, 2023 • Pastor Paul Vaughan • Matthew 6:21, Acts 4:12, Acts 4:13, Acts 4:31–35

As many of you know our mission team had a very successful trip while on missions in the Philippines. I look forward to being able to share how God moved not only in those that we ministered to but also to the entire mission team! This week we begin our annual end of year giving initiative titled "Heart for the House." This is one of my favorite initiatives that we do. It is not so much about money but it is about us preparing our heart to be able to answer the call to where God is calling us too. The title of this week's message is "What's It All About." This is the introductory message to our Heart for the House series. In this message we will learn that Heart for the House is all about Jesus. A bunch of the early followers of Jesus had their hearts captured by Him, and they wanted to give to Jesus. As a result, they were used by Jesus, and the Gospel spread, and the mission moved forward! They lived lives of meaning and purpose and significance. This is also God’s plan for you–to get in the presence of Jesus, so that you can experience Him, so that you can be used by Him. The Accelerator Phrase

December 18, 2022 • Pastor Paul Vaughan • John 6:35, Matthew 26:17–30, Exodus 12:26–27, 1 Corinthians 11:26–28

This week's message is titled "Accelerator Phrase." In this message we will learn about the significance of giving our tithes/ offering and our end of year gift to "Heart for the House." We will learn about the phrase "Here I Am" that I believe when you pray helps to accelerate your faith and spiritual journey. The Greatest Investment of All

December 11, 2022 • Pastor Jessie Arce • Luke 16:1–13, Luke 12:13–21

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight...." Eph.1:3-4 Thanking God for all of you as we witness how you are allowing yourself to be a blessing to others (as God blessed you). This week we will continue with our sermon series titled"Heart for the House." Thank you Pastor Carlos for sharing God's Favor last Sunday, what a great message! This week's message is "The Greatest Investment of All". In this message we will learn how our Lord Jesus uses a non-believer to teach us lessons about Investment, a bad example with great lessons, wow! We will discuss from this bad example how we can make the Greatest Investment we can ever have. 1) Invest it for the Benefit of Others 2) Invest it for Your Own Benefit 3) Invest It for God. I believe it will be a powerful message that will redirect our attitude toward money. Break Open the Alabaster Box

December 4, 2022 • Pastor Carlos Xavier • John 12:1–8

What a year it has been! We’ve seen salvations, baptisms, new mission partners, expanded diversity within our church body, new domestic and international missions and outreach initiatives, and so much more! Without you, this would not be possible, and on behalf of the Pastoral and Eldership team, we thank you for your continued commitment. 🙏🏼❤️ With that said, we’re going to finish off the year strong with our Heart for the House series which provides us all an opportunity to join in on advancing our vision forward.  You’re invited to hear this message of how a broken home, a broken heart, and a broken vessel turned out to be the catalyst to experiencing the goodness of God’s favor.  God’s gift of favor is available for you, and He invites you unwrap His amazing gift of grace.
