Timeless Promises

God Uses Us (Phillips)

February 14, 2021 • Pastor Tim Phillips

We began this series looking at the sweet promise that God has forgiven us of all our sins. This week we look at the promise that God will use us to spread this news throughout the world. C.S. Lewis famously wrote “To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you”. There is no greater joy God could give to us than to be used by Him to spread the news of His love and mercy for this world and to be used as an ambassador of His forgiveness for all!

God Unites Us (Meyer)

February 7, 2021 • Pastor Joe Meyer

For all of us, the forced social isolation, and required physical disconnection from people, has been incredibly difficult. This week we remember that it isn’t the church building, the worship style, or even if we are in person that unites us as a people but in fact it is God Himself that unites us. Jesus said that true worship won’t happen at this place or at this time, but true worship will happen in Spirit and in truth. Whether or not we’re in the church building, or at home, we are united as God’s people and find comfort and strength in this promise.

God Empowers Us (Johnson)

January 31, 2021 • Pastor Ben Johnson

The calendar year 2020 has taught us all many lessons it seems. Don’t take toilet paper for granted, community is an essential piece of our lives, don’t leave home without your mask, and it is no fun to feel a sense of powerlessness in our lives. I have a secret for you though, come close and I will tell you, there is a way to feel content, and even strong, no matter what is going on in your life. The secret is that it has nothing to do with you and your strength and everything to do with God and His strength in you. This week we rest and find strength in the promise that God makes that He will empower us for whatever life brings us.

God Fights for Us (Meyer)

January 24, 2021 • Pastor Joe Meyer

The double helix of the promises of God is that God will be our provider and our protector every day of our lives. When God makes a promise, He always fulfills His promise, and the promise you can rest in this week is that God is fighting for you. What an incredible image it is to picture the God of the universe going to battle for you, standing over you, surrounding you with His angels, and guarding and protecting you throughout your entire life. We find comfort and strength in this phrase again today “If God is for us then who can be against us?”

God Has a Plan for Us (Meyer)

God Has a Plan for Us (Johnson)

January 17, 2021 • Pastor Ben Johnson

In Isaiah 9:6 God is said to be “Wonderful Counselor” and this means that God is wonderful at guiding and directing our lives or making strategic plans and leading us in them. God has made each of us a promise that He will guide and lead our lives in accordance with His will. He has a plan for His Church and for everyone who is a part of His Church. Romans 8 says that all things work together for the good of those who love God according to His purposes. God makes the plan, God guides the steps, we trust in His leading, and all of it is for His Glory and Our Good.

God is In Us (Meyer)

January 10, 2021 • Pastor Joe Meyer

There are many sayings people will use when it comes to explaining God’s presence with us. People say things like, “He is watching over me!” or “He is walking with me!” or “He is with me always!” or “God is near!” and many others like these. Scripturally, all of these are accurate and true and worth clinging to tightly! But God has made another promise that is even more incredible than all of these phrases and that is the promise that He will come to live inside of us. This week we look at this incredible promise that God is in us, the fullness of the Triune God, lives inside our bodies! Within this promise is where we find our true strength and our true hope no matter what is going on in our lives!
