If someone in your MCG told you this week, ‘I think God might be calling me to go overseas as a missionary,’ would you know what to say next?

Most of us would probably say something like ‘That’s awesome, you should really pray about that,’ and most conversations would end there.

But these are conversations that are actually happening here at GCC. People in our church are asking whether God is sending them to the nations, and they shouldn’t have to figure that out alone. Part of the pathway we have created for sending people to the nations is a phase called Discern. People should not be trying to discern by themselves whether God is sending them to the nations. 

That’s why we want to train Discern Mentors: people who’ll walk with someone through that question over several months. You’ll listen, pray, open the Word together, and help them see what God is doing.

To be a mentor, you don’t need to have lived overseas. You need a love for Jesus, a love for the church, and a willingness to sit across the table from someone and ask good questions. We’ll train you for the rest.
