13. The Psalm of the Crucifixion, Psa 22.

The Cross Throughout the Scriptures - Part 13
16. What Are These Wounds? Zec 13:6-7.
Mat 26:31 Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away because of Me this night, for it is written, ‘I will strike down the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered.’”

They have concluded that our Lord through His bitter sufferings and death appeased the wrath of God the Father and thereby brought deliverance and salvation for sinful man.

Joh 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,”

Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men,

Heb 9:26 but now once and for all at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

Rom 8:3 For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,

Rev 1:7 Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him.

Psa 34:20 “He keeps all His bones; not one of them is broken.”

Joh 19:34-36.

Psa 35:11 “Malicious witnesses rose up; they ask Me of things that I do not know.”

Mar 14:57-58.

Psa 41:9 Even My close friend, in whom I trusted, who ate My bread, has lifted up his heel against Me.

Luk 22:47-48.

Psa 69:21 “They also gave Me gall for My food, and for My thirst they gave Me vinegar to drink.”

Mat 27:34.

Isa 50:6 “I gave My back to those who strike Me, and My cheeks to those who pluck out the beard; I did not cover My face from humiliation and spitting.”

Mat 26:67.

17. Behold the Lamb of God, Joh 1:29.

Luk 7:28 “I say to you, among those born of women, there is no one greater than John; yet he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”

John the Baptist - “Behold the Lamb of God!”

God’s plan to point out sin in their lives, so they would see their need for the Lamb of God who would take away their sin.

Rom 5:20 And the Law came in that the transgression might increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,

He might now declare His oneness with sinful men, and reveal in the Jordan, signifying death, absolute identification with the sins of the world on the Cross.
