Just as we sometimes feel like we don't have the time or talents to help the work of Christ, we can also think the same thing about our financial resources, our treasure. It’s too easy to compare ourselves to others, but that’s not God desire for us. Instead, He wants us to discover the joy of what He can do with anything we genuinely offer Him, out of gratitude for all He’s done for us. You might just be surprised at what a difference He can make through you when you make yourself available!

Many people can’t imagine God using their time or talents, but all through the Bible, God used unlikely people. Often, the difference between someone God uses and someone He doesn’t isn’t their ability but their availability. Understanding our role as the biblical model of a steward makes all the difference in what God does. For, as we’ll see this morning, God’s plan has always been to entrust every follower of Jesus with the time and talents to serve His Kingdom.
