Called to Liberation: Justice & Apostolics
February 22, 2026 | 5:00–7:30 PM
Featuring a panel discussion, reception, and vendor fair.
In support of Grace Apostolic Church’s Grace Forward – Brooklyn Park Expansion, this Black History Month gathering explores what happens when Apostolic faith takes the Holy Spirit seriously enough to act.
Rooted in the legacy of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World and the scholarship of A Liberating Spirit, this conversation brings together Apostolic leaders whose faith has been tested in moments of racial and civic crisis. From the Civil Rights Movement to the aftermath of George Floyd’s murder, Apostolic pastors and practitioners have discerned how the Holy Spirit leads beyond the sanctuary into moral leadership, public witness, and courageous action.
This panel will examine the historic role of Apostolic and Pentecostal churches in civil rights, the tensions that shaped that witness, and what it means for today’s Church to lead faithfully in the ongoing work of racial and economic justice—without compromising holiness, doctrine, or spiritual authority.
Panelists:
Suff. Bishop David E. Johnson
Bishop Richard D. Howell, Jr.
D’Angelos Svenkeson

Special Remarks (Invited):
