New York Art Installation

Nelson Gallardo - Artist

Nelson Gallardo is a project manager with FSG. He lives and works in New York City. His responsibilities include guiding and executing lighting and electrical installations and upgrades for businesses and municipal authorities throughout the area. During the day, he wears his hardhat and glasses, shielded from overly inquisitive eyes by his friendly demeanor and personal charm. By night, he changes. He silently disappears from the job site, only to return armed with the tools of his other calling: a palette, canvas, and brush. Gone is the literal hardhat, replaced by a metaphorical artist’s beret.

Helping You Navigate the Changing World of Business Technology • January 14, 2020 • Brent Young, Brannon Bourland

Who are we? FSG has been around since the early 80s and we have been on the forefront of many business technologies from Lighting, Electrical, Signage, Low Voltage, National Rollouts and now Energy Management, IoT, Smart Buildings and even Smart Cities. This includes us in a lot of conversations with a lot of people around a lot of business topics and what we have heard and seen is that there are a lot of questions around a lot of issues that are changing every day. Why are we doing this? People used to call us and ask for products, now they call us and ask for help. We get a lot of people who call us that are confused. The technology landscape for Facility Managers is confusing and as is the case in business, where there is confusion, there are companies and individuals that try to capitalize on that confusion for their profit. We have created Wired In as a vehicle to create a community around helping facility managers and entrepreneurs navigate the choppy waters of business technology. What is it going to be? Primarily, this is a Question and Answer vehicle. We’re responding to questions that we are getting calls about as well as questions that come up in response to videos. We’ll be bringing in subject matter experts to give you what you need to make informed decisions. We’ll also be doing interviews with facility managers from some of the major brands in the US. They will talk about their local and national business technology projects so that we all can learn from the successes, obstacles and surprises of their projects. How can I get involved? This isn’t a one-way conversation. Like, Comment, Subscribe, Respond. Let us know the kinds of conversations you want to have and what resources you need.
