With 35 years of experience working with kids, Dr. Beth Robinson knows better than anyone how quickly and deceptively a predator can perpetrate abuse. Beth is a professor of counseling at Colorado Christian University and the author of Protecting Your Child From Predators: How To Recognize and Respond to Sexual Danger. She discusses the warning signs and red flags of sexual abuse and predatory behavior and how parents and teachers can stay alert and watch for those signs and report suspicions immediately to law enforcement. She also talks about the importance of denying adults exclusive, one-on-one access to your children, no matter how friendly they may seem. Beth highlights the need for developing more awareness on this issue and how important it is to prosecute offending predators so more kids are protected and it gives a warning to others.

Dr. Katariina Rosenblatt was just 13 years old when she was recruited into a human trafficking ring by someone she believed was her friend. That horrifying experience led to years of human trafficking, abuse, trauma, and almost death multiple times that changed her life forever. Would she ever escape? By God’s grace, Katariina did indeed escape that abuse. Now, she is the executive director of There Is Hope For Me, where she helps other survivors of human trafficking find justice and healing. She also wrote the books Stolen: The True Story of a Sex Trafficking Survivor and Trafficking in America. Katariina shares stories of helping other children escape harrowing handlers by working with the FBI, and she also identifies exactly how these predators prey on kids and recruit them from inside the perceived safety of school. This is a difficult reality Michelle Denault had to deal with after realizing that a years-long relationship she’d had with a teacher who was 25 years older than her, was not love but grooming and abuse. She didn’t realize it was abuse until two decades after she left him at the age of 24, because she wanted to have a family. Today she dedicates her life to ensuring students are educated about the dangers and red flags of potential grooming and abuse from those in positions of authority through her ministry Voices Carry. She is also a speaker for Safe and Sound Schools, and her “Grooming 101” program has been instituted in over 100 schools nationwide.
