In the relational world knowing is all about time. We spend time with someone in order to get to know them. When I was courting my wife all I wanted to do was to spend time with her so I could know her. Time brought about knowing.. Even after all these years I still desire to spend time with her. I want to know her.

Today, I want to show you five commitments you can make in order to really know God. I am not just addressing theology but Practical steps you can take to know…really know God.

We will also see how you need to be a part of a church family. We know God together. We love God together.

We Matter "Our Generosity Matters"

Commitments define us and the commitment to be generous starts in your heart. The statement “but they gave themselves first to the Lord” is the key to a life that honors God. Paul shared that this poor church gave all they could and more because they had first given themselves to God. Commitments will change you! Over the last six weeks we have been defining our building lives commitments, Worship, Love God, Grow, Love Others, and Go. Today we will look at giving your life away. Did you know that 15% of Jesus’ teachings was on being generous? He talked more about giving than he did heaven and hell.. Before you get jumpy thinking I am going to hit you up for money, I am not. Here is a thought....

One of the most powerful promises of God is peace. When we come into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ we have peace with God. Peace with God calms a troubled heart.. Peace with God changes how we live, how we look at our circumstances and how we relate to others. Everyone in the world is looking for peace. The only place to find peace is with God. That leaves me to believe that we should become messengers of peace. As the people of God we should be the proclaimers of peace.
